Detailed introduction
The Busan Regional Meteorological Administration was built in 1934 and its building has the shape of a ship. Its exterior has a Renaissance style, and is characterized by the technical hinges of the interior vertical windows and ceiling molding patterning.
On October 17, 2001, it was designated as Busan Metropolitan City Monument No. 51. The building was built in 1904 as a weather bureau. The building was renamed ‘the National Central Meteorological Observatory’ in 1948, and grew to the status of ‘the Busan area of Central Meteorological Observatory’.
It was renamed ‘the Busan Central Regional Meteorological Observatory’ in 1982 and became the Regional Meteorological Administration which moved to the former Dongnae Tax Office, and now is in charge of meteorological observations only.
