Detailed introduction
Yongdusan Mountatin is located in the center of the city (1-2beonji, 2ga, Kwanbok-dong, Jung-gu). It has been called Songhyeon Mountain, A.K.A Choyangsosan Mountatin because of its dense pine trees. The shape of the mountain was called Yongdusan (mountain of dragons), which corresponds to the head of a dragon that ascends form the sea to the land. In addition, the site of the old city hall in Jungang-dong is called the Dragon Mountain because it has the appearance of a dragon’s tail.
The Busan Tower, a landmark of Yongdusan Park, is a tower that stands for Busan. It was built to a height of 120m, 69m above sea level. The long stretch of Busan’s city center and beautiful scenery from the Busan Tower observatory makes the viewer filled with wonder. The observatory on the top of the Busan Tower is modeled after a bogae (cover) on the roof of the Dabotap pagoda in Bulguksa Temple in Gyeongju. The view from the observatory looks different by day and by night. An unobstructed view of the sea can be seen in the daytime and the night view looks like the starlight of the Milky Way through the splendor of the city lights.
