Yongdusan Jagalchi Special Tourist Zone

It is the representative special tourist zone of Busan where protected and preserved history and modern culture coexist.

  • Designated Date: May 14, 2008(Busan Metropolitan City Notification No. 2008-169)
  • Additional Designation of the zone: July 15, 2009 (Busan Metropolitan City Notification No. 2009-281)
    => Additional designation of Lotte landfill (12,679.4㎡) and missing lot (28,872.2㎡)
  • Reason for Designation: Revitalization of the old town business district by forming an axis of sightseeing for Busan.
  • Location: Bupyeong-dong · Gwangbok-dong · All Nampo-dong areas, Jungang-dong · Dongkwang-dong · Daechung-dong · some areas of Bosu-dong
  • Area:1,079㎢(1,079,836.1㎡, 38% of the district’s total area) => Original: 1,038㎢

Jung-gu is a place where shopping, food, attractions, history and culture coexist. Jung-gu has a lot of designated tourist zones.
They start from the 40 Steps Culture and Tourism Theme Street which calls attention to the joys & sorrows of memories of Korean War refugee life. Also, there is Gwangbok-dong Lotte Department Store with a modern looking, mecca of shopping and food in Nampo-dong area, Bosu-dong Book Alley, and Yongdusan Park representing Busan.
The total area is 1,079㎡(1,079.836㎡comprising 38% of Jung-gu. The tourist zones bring traditional and modern images together. With those features, Jung-gu aims to form an axis of tourism and to revitalize the business district of the old downtown.
